About Kunekunes
Kunekune pigs are a unique heritage breed that originated in New Zealand and are prized for their friendly personalities, natural grazing ability, and beautifully marbled pork. The name "Kunekune" comes from the Māori language and means "fat and round," a fitting description for these compact, pasture-friendly pigs.
Unlike many commercial pig breeds, Kunekunes thrive on grass and forage, making them an excellent choice for homesteads, family farms, and small-acreage properties. Their calm temperament, manageable size, and easygoing nature have made them one of the fastest-growing heritage pig breeds in the United States.
At Reynolds Family Farms in Nampa, Idaho, we raise pedigreed Kunekune pigs for breeding stock, companion animals, pasture-based homesteads, and quality pork production. We focus on healthy pigs with excellent temperaments, strong genetics, and sound conformation to help families throughout Idaho and the Treasure Valley build thriving farms.
